Upright: a starting interpretation
Examine the rules or guidance you follow and whether they fit your situation. The keywords tradition, learning describe a theme to examine in your present situation. Compare that theme with something you have actually noticed; it need not explain every part of your question.
Reversed: a question to explore
A familiar rule may deserve examination rather than automatic obedience or rejection.
A reversal can suggest an inward, blocked or overemphasized theme. It does not automatically mean the opposite of the upright card. Decide whether it fits the question and the position you chose.
A question for your journal
Which tradition helps me, and which rule needs a reason before I follow it?
Bring it into a spread
Ask an experienced person to explain the reasoning behind a practice.
Choose your positions before drawing. Use Situation / Obstacle / Next step to keep the meaning connected to your question. Your own observations can differ from these notes.
